Where Were We?
Well, I have been a bad little blogger, haven't I? The end of the school year is always a very busy time for us. Well, actually, it's a busy time for Tim, but that indirectly makes it busy for the rest us. Picking up his slack, you know. :)
Reed graduated from preschool and is ever so excited to be going to kindergarten in the fall! Lane successfully passed 9th grade and likewise Maren with 6th grade. Lane is very thankful to be finished with Algebra I and Spanish II. He will never darken those doors again.
The summer so far has shaped up like this:
- Lorna & Maren took a girl's trip with Tim's mom, sister, our sister-in-law and our two nieces to the Mall of America in Minneapolis (post to come). The shopping mecca of America!
- Maren attended Horse Camp with two of her cousins. This camp is a repeat of last summer and was a hit. They learned care and riding of horses.
- Tim taught a week of children's classes at the local museum and is midway through a four week evening adult class. Another week of children's classes begins for him on Monday. Lane will also volunteer that week for a couple of other teachers.
- Maren had a consultation with an oral surgeon to be evaluated for possible jaw surgery, however she must be finished growing before it would be done. Probably a year or two down the road, but she will go back in August to have her wisdom teeth removed.
- We have taken bids to have a sprinkler system installed. Tim is thrilled!
- Much gardening (on Tim's part) and swimming (on the kid's part) has already gone on. We are already picking tomatoes and squash out of the garden. Yummy!
Where is Lorna, you ask? Very few of the above activities reference her. Well, as she is not a teacher or a student, she trots off to to work every morning as the rest of her family sleeps. Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to work I go....
