Disney Bound!

We made it! After a couple of not-so-perfect practices last night, a couple of cheerleaders and a team mom with mild food poisoning today, one large arena with what felt like sub-zero temperatures in it and a long eight hour day in same, the girls did what they set out to do:

Qualify for Nationals! We are going to meet Mickey!

We were all on pins and needles waiting for the outcome. There was one other team who most people (including Tim & I) thought clearly had the first place position wrapped up. They were REALLY good. Our girls overall were very good: clean and crisp performance and a good amount of difficulty in their stunts, but one of their flyers started to fall backwards on her way up and we thought that might have cost us a first or second place finish. There were two or three other teams that appeared to not have any errors in their performances. But it's all about the points accumulated and what the judges think. We got second place and that team that we thought was a sure thing for first? Didn't even place in the top three. We think they had some safety violations and those are big point deductions. Whatever. Second is good enough to get us to Disney. We have a week and a half to pack, plan and execute our trip. We leave on December 4!
